Brad Binder was fourth in the MotoGP World Championship last year, starting the new season with the intention to fight for the top positions once again. And, after the Sepang tests, the rider is confident.
The South African didn’t hid his happiness with the improvements KTM made this winter: ‘Sepang was really good for us. I’m super happy with the progress our team made and all the points that they brought and all the parts that they brought really touched areas where we were really looking for some improvements. So for me it was a really good test and I’m ready to get the season started. I’m looking forward to get into Qatar next week of course’.
Regarding where is the step forward he feels, Binder replied: ‘The first really noticeable difference for me was that they really improved our engine brake. It was something where we really needed to work on. It has a lot more consistency and it seems it’s a lot easier to tune or to change in the areas we want. So that was one thing that I was really happy about. The second area we seem to improve was turning a little bit and the rear contact a little bit. That’s two areas I really touched, which I think is going to help us over the course of the season for sure. But there’s still a bit of work to do in Qatar for sure. We need to try and put all these small areas we found together and once we do that, we can really have a better idea of where we are’.
