After securing second-place finishes in Thailand and Argentina, Álex Márquez heads to the GP of the Americas looking to maintain his strong start to the season.
The BK8 Gresini rider emphasized his good form with the Ducati Desmosedici GP24: ‘It’s true that we were in a really good shape in the first two races. In races where we struggled last year, we were able to be really fast this year, and this is something really great. I already said that every time I feel more comfortable and better with the bike. When I tried it in Montmeló I was already fast from the first moment, but each time I’m feeling more under control with the bike’.
In the past Márquez hasn’t always had the best results in Austin, but that doesn’t seem to worry him: ‘Historically, it seems that Austin is not one of my favorite tracks, especially in MotoGP, but I was quite unlucky here in the past: in 2023, I think we were really fast, but then I had the contact with [Jorge] Martín in turn 3 on the first lap and I crashed’.
The #73 added: ‘We know that we start from zero here, like in Thailand and Argentina. And we’ll see where we stand. We need to achieve the maximum points in every race to be able to make good things at the end of the season. So, we will focus on every session to extract 100%’.
