Last year, Álex Márquez raced for LCR Honda for the second consecutive season in MotoGP. Following a challenging 2021, radical changes were made to the bike in search of greater competitiveness, but the initial enthusiasm eventually gave way to many doubts.
The Spanish rider revealed to DAZN that there was a halt in progress in 2022: ‘In 2022, many doubts arose. I have to say it was one of the years I faced with the most excitement; I made a change that was supposed to be much better in theory. There were positive and negative things, but the progress was very much stalled, and many things had changed that we were not informed about. There was a moment of misunderstanding’.
Márquez explained that the bike didn’t perform ideally, which led to doubts: ‘When we started, we noticed that there was something that really didn’t match with that bike. You were on the bike, and you’d say, «I don’t know how to do it». And of course, you doubt yourself; you go through a tough time’.
