The MotoE lap record at Misano fell again in the second practice session for the San Marino GP, this time thanks to Alessandro Zaccone, who led the session after Mattia Casadei topped the morning session.
The LCR E-Team rider was leading after the first flying laps, only to be overtaken by Kevin Zannoni (Openbank Aspar). With less than three minutes to go, Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing) set a new lap record.
The Italian clocked a time of 1m39.925s (the only rider to dip into the 1m39s), beating Zannoni by 0.161s. Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar) finished third, followed by Casadei and Lukas Tulovic (Dynavolt Intact GP) in the top five.
Also securing direct access to the second qualifying were Óscar Gutiérrez (Axxis-MSi), Eric Granado (LCR E-Team), and Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini), who edged out Héctor Garzó (Dynavolt Intact GP) by just 0.023s. With a ninth-place finish in practice, the championship leader will have to compete in Q1 this afternoon.
