Aleix Espargaró retired from MotoGP at the end of this season and will be a Honda test rider in 2025… but he will also dedicate himself more professionally to cycling.
Cycling is one of the Spaniard’s favorite activities, which he uses not only for training but also to compete in some amateur events. In 2021, he had the chance to sign with the Movistar team.
Now that his MotoGP career has come to an end, according to Relevo.com, Espargaró will join Lidl-Trek next season – ranked fourth in the UCI World Ranking.
What remains unclear is the role the 35-year-old Spaniard will have within the team. If he competes, he could do so with the development team (Lidl-Trek Future Racing), as the 30 spots on the World Tour team are already filled.
