Even before the debuts – one as a rookie trying a MotoGP bike – and the other as a new rider from a team, after many years of titles and on the same factory – Aleix Espargaro previewed the debuts of Pedro Acosta and Marc Marquez, considering these to be ‘spectacular’.
On sunday after the race that gave Pecco Bagnaia the title, the Aprilia Racing rider spoke a little about the debuts in the Valencia Tests, then yet to happen: ‘They are both spectacular debuts. Marc with the Ducati is going to fly. And Pedro, oh man, I like Pedro. Apart from the role that Pol [Espargaro] is going to have as test rider, he has told me that he is going to be a bit involved in trying to get him to adapt, he is going to do the Malaysian test with him’.
About the rookie, Espargaro is excited to see how he will do: ‘I like that. It doesn’t create uncertainty for me, but I’m curious to see how long it will take for him to be out there kicking ass’.
Currently there are still 3h50m remaining for the Valencian tests to come to an end. At the moment Marc Marquez is second (21 laps done), 0.298s from Maverick Viñales, while Pedro Acosta is 17th (34 laps done), and is 1.429s off the top.
