Aldi Satya Mahendra secured his maiden pole position in the World Supersport 300 Championship this Friday at Magny-Cours, delivering a decisive lap towards the end of the Superpole.
Throughout the Superpole session, six riders took the lead at some point, including Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki) and Iñigo Iglesias Bravo (Fusport-RT Motorsport by SKM-Kawasaki), two of the main title contenders.
In the closing moments of a session marked by several yellow flags, Mahendra (Team BrCorse/Yamaha) posted a time of 1m32.513s, which earned him pole position. He beat Jeffrey Buis (Freudenberg KTM-Paligo Racing), who couldn’’’t improve his time and ended up in second, 0.107s behind.
Mirko Gennai (MTM Kawasaki) will start third, followed by Bravo in fourth and Marc García (Kove Racing) in fifth, just ahead of his teammate Julio García González. Championship leader Veneman will start eighth, 0.457s slower than the pole-sitter.
