The fifth stage of the 2025 Dakar is still welcoming riders who were in action today, but for now, there appears to be a new winner, with Adrien Van Beveren currently the fastest of the day, albeit provisionally.
The Honda rider completed the 492 km set for today, with 428 of them being special stages, in 4h51m47s, which marks a difference of 1m13s over Luciano Benavides (KTM) and 2m44s ahead of Jose Ignacio Cornejo (Hero), who thus demonstrated once again that he is regaining his form after the first three stages proved more challenging. This marked the Chilean’s first podium of the year.
Within the top five were Ross Branch (Hero), with Daniel Sanders (KTM) in fifth, both crossing the finish line less than five minutes behind #42.
Tosha Schareina (Honda) was sixth, with Edgar Canet (KTM) in seventh, ahead of Stefan Svitko (Slovnaft Rally Team), Pablo Quintanilla (Honda), and Lorenzo Santolino (Sherco), who rounded out the top ten.
At the time of writing, only 16 riders had officially crossed the finish line.
