AC Sanctuary, the renowned specialist in classic motorcycle restoration and customization, presents its latest masterpiece: a modernized and meticulously updated version of the iconic Kawasaki GPZ900R Ninja. This new iteration, designated as TYPE-R Ver2020, represents a complete reinvention of the legendary 1980s motorcycle.
In response to the growing scarcity of original parts and the deterioration of existing motorcycles in the market, the company has developed a comprehensive restoration and upgrade program. The new TYPE-R package includes a complete engine overhaul, incorporating oversized forged pistons and modernized components to ensure superior reliability and performance.
Among the most significant modifications are the Öhlins RWU front suspension, state-of-the-art Brembo brakes, and 17-inch O.Z Racing forged aluminum wheels. The frame received special treatment, including structural reinforcements and powder coating finish.
The RCM-520 demonstration model exemplifies the program’s potential, featuring an impressive array of upgrades: 36mm TMR carburetors, Nitro Racing titanium exhaust, and a completely renewed electrical package. Comfort wasn’t forgotten, with a new Daytona RCM Concept COZY seat specifically developed for long-distance riding.
According to Nakamura, the project leader: ‘The Ninja has now reached classic motorcycle status, just like the Z. Our customers are looking for a solid foundation to create customized specifications that will allow them to enjoy the motorcycle for a long time’.
