Marc Márquez and Valentino Rossi share one of the most, if not the most iconic rivalry ever in MotoGP and now one of the closest friends to the italian will have the #93 by his side: Pecco Bagnaia. Davide Tardozzi addressed this bond of Bagnaia with Rossi and how his job will be to keep the good environment inside the garage.
Asked by Cycle World how he, Team Manager of Ducati Lenovo, sees the relation of Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez, Tardozzi replied: ‘It’s true that Pecco is a rider of Valentino Rossi’s Academy, but he is a solid champion in himself. Our priority is that the atmosphere in the garage will remain harmonious as it is nowadays. It’s my task to maintain it’
Still with the Sepang Clash in mind, back in 2015, involving a fierce battle of Márquez and Rossi, Tardozzi said he is looking at the present and future, not worried about the past and how such events can affect the current moment: ‘We have to say that the facts in Sepang date back to almost 10 years ago. We look at the rider’s performance and his ability to develop the bike together with Pecco and win titles. We look ahead, to the future, not to the past’.
And added: ‘Moreover, in the sport there are the fans who follow a single racer, and then the Ducati fans who follow the brand—this is so special and we are very proud and honored to have them’.
