Adrián Huertas clinched victory in the first race of the Supersport World Championship (WSSP) in Misano, with the battle for the win remaining open until the very end. The top two riders were separated by a mere 0,021s at the finish line.
Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team/Ducati) had an impressive start, taking the lead by the end of the first lap. The Italian rider maintained his lead throughout the race, with Huertas (Aruba.it Ducati) consistently trailing him. The gap between them was always less than a second.
The fight for the top spot extended to the very last moment, and in the final corner, Huertas made the decisive move to overtake Montella and secure the win. Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate) finished in third place, lacking the pace to challenge the top two.
The top five were rounded out by Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha) and Jorge Navarro, who achieved his best result of the season so far in his debut with Orelac Racing VerdNatura.
