It’s not something new to anyone that Honda is going through a very difficult period in MotoGP – in terms of its competitiveness – and that Marc Márquez was able to make real miracles with the RC213V and now Johann Zarco remembering the manufacturer’s former rider and assured that it was precisely the Spaniard who «hide» the bike’s problems, but that this is something that ‘not everyone’ can do.
Currently with the LCR Honda, Zarco has been experiencing a lot of difficulties in achieving results that are more in line with what he had achieved over the last few years and, in words to TodoCircuito, he recalled Márquez’s ability to «mask» the bike’s real problems, by saying: ‘Marc compensated very well for the bike’s problems, but not all of us are like him’.
And it is precisely because he is not Márquez that, he believes, this can be positive to have another perspective and vision on the condition of the bike, because this way he can make it clear where he should work, he considered: ‘Maybe it is better not to be like Marc to identify and correct the weakest points of the bike’, he added.
Zarco had already said previously that significant changes are needed, both in mentality and in the path to follow to take Honda to its best once again, and there is at least another year and a half left on #5’s contract so that, from his side, trying to be part of the solution, he brings experience from Ducati, the reference on the MotoGP grid.
