With the MotoGP season on a brief pause due to the postponement of the Kazakhstan GP, Francesco Bagnaia is staying sharp by training in Misano, delivering some impressive lap times last week.
Riding a Ducati Panigale V4 S, the current second-place holder in the championship clocked laps at 1m35.1s, as he shared on social media: ‘Enjoying the beautiful V4 S. And honestly, lapping in 1m35.1s is impressive for a street bike’.
To put this into perspective, the best times on the circuit are not drastically far off. For instance, Jorge Martín secured the pole position at the San Marino MotoGP GP last year with a time of 1m30.390s, while Álvaro Bautista achieved the pole position in the World Superbike Championship with a time of 1m33.017s.
It’s important to note that the track conditions during these tests are not exactly the same as those during a race weekend, mainly because there aren’t as many riders on the circuit simultaneously. Nonetheless, Bagnaia’s laps on a production bike are undeniably impressive and showcase Ducati’s competitiveness in this segment.
