Connor Cummins has announced his immediate withdrawal from the 2024 Isle of Man TT Races. Cummins, a 12-time podium finisher, released a brief statement thanking his sponsors and family for their support, and wishing his fellow competitors the best for the remainder of the event.
Cummins experienced uncharacteristically poor results in the opening races, retiring from both the Monster Energy Supersport Race and the RST Superbike Race, and finishing 8th in the RL360 Superstock Race.
Having re-signed with Milenco by Padgett’s Motorcycles for an eighth successive year, Cummins was determined to return to the podium following a viral illness that affected his performance in TT 2023. However, his decision to withdraw comes as a surprise to fans and the racing community alike.
Cummins had high hopes for TT 2024, aiming to regain his competitive edge. Unfortunately, his performance in the opening races fell short of expectations. After retiring from the Monster Energy Supersport Race and the RST Superbike Race, and securing an 8th place finish in the RL360 Superstock Race, Cummins decided to withdraw from the competition. This decision marks a significant moment in his career, as he evaluates his next steps and plans for the remainder of the season.
