The final four riders to contest the pole position for the Moto3 Italian GP have been determined. Scott Ogden led the first qualifying session at Mugello, advancing alongside David Muñoz, Joel Kelso, and Filippo Farioli.
After the initial flying laps, Nicola Carraro (LevelUp-MTA/KTM) was leading Q1, ahead of Ogden (MLav Racing/Honda) and Joel Esteban (CFMoto Valresa Aspar), with Ángel Piqueras (Leopard Racing/Honda) in fourth.
The standings remained mostly unchanged for several minutes, as nearly all riders headed back to the pits. Muñoz (BOE Motorsports/KTM) was at the bottom of the standings due to his first lap being annulled.
In the final three minutes, Muñoz climbed to the top spot, while his teammate Kelso moved into second place. Carraro and Ogden dropped to third and fourth, respectively, with Esteban and Piqueras falling out of the top four.
Esteban and Piqueras briefly re-entered the top four but were ultimately surpassed by improvements from other riders towards the end. Ogden finished on top, beating Muñoz by 0.378s. Kelso was third, and Farioli (SIC58 Squadra Corse/Honda) snatched fourth place at the last moment. Esteban, in fifth, missed out on advancing by 0.243s.
