The September meeting at the historic Moto Guzzi factory in Mandello del Lario returns as usual. Last year saw the historic GMG, Guzzi World Days, dedicated to the official celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the company. This year sees the return of the more festive and, if you prefer, informal event called Open House. It’s a big party dedicated to all admirers of the brand and lovers of beautiful Italian motorcycles. It will take place from September 7 to 10 in the Lake Como area and this year many Guzzisti and supporters from all over the world are expected.
The celebration will begin with the ritual opening of the legendary red gate at Via Parodi, 57, on Thursday, September 7, at 9:30 am. From then on, it will be possible to visit the museum, which has been renovated and expanded, housing 150 of the rarest and most representative Moto Guzzi models. At the same time, the Moto Guzzi Shop will open, in the area in front of the gate, where all the original clothing and merchandising will be available, and registration for test rides of the range will also open. And there’s a welcome novelty: given the great demand from the public and the arrival of new models such as the Mandello V100, this year the test rides will start on Thursday, September 7, and run until Sunday, September 10. More shifts and more bikes available, more satisfaction for everyone along a route perfected to enhance the qualities of Larian bikes.
In addition to what has already been mentioned for Thursday, on Friday, September 8, workshop activities will begin for the Guzzisti registered with The Clan club. Saturday and Sunday will be the most intense days of activities and commitments: on September 9, at 09:30, both the museum and the factory will be open to the public and it will be possible to visit the engine assembly areas, the vehicle assembly line, where each model is assembled by hand, as well as the historic Wind Tunnel, designed and built in the early 1950s as the first structure of its kind for the aerodynamic study applied to motorcycles. There will also be the Moto Guzzi Village with a large exhibition space for the entire range and an absolute novelty: a special, never-before-seen version of the V7, the company’s best-selling and most-loved model, will be presented.
There is also a rich program of speeches, talk shows and special guests who will take turns on the stage set up inside the Moto Guzzi Village, animated by music from Virgin Radio. Refreshment is provided by Street Food, thanks to the presence of several mini-trucks capable of preparing quality gourmet dishes on site with a wide choice linked to the best traditions of Italian cuisine.
Inside the Village there is an area dedicated to Moto Guzzi Fast Endurance, the single-brand trophy that allows V7 drivers to rediscover the pleasure of racing as a team while spending little and having a lot of fun. There is also a space reserved for the Moto Guzzi Experience, the exclusive all-inclusive travel program that covers the Moto Guzzi range.
