After finishing 11th in the Misano GP, Alex Márquez is looking to improve on his performance. The Spanish Gresini Racing MotoGP rider spoke a little about his first impressions of the new circuit: ‘ I went for a run yesterday, it’s a good layout with more ups and downs than we expected and some very close corners. It’s an important race for MotoGP, because the market is very big with a lot of fans in India. I think turns 8 and 9 will be the most difficult, but there are many points on the circuit to learn. Another important factor will be the grip of the tires on this circuit.
Asked about the danger of Turn 4 and the potential of his rivals, Alex replies: ‘The escape is about 70 or 90 meters long, we’ll never go straight into the wall, it might seem more dangerous than it is because we pass so close to the wall, but I think it’s fine and there won’t be any problems. The Ducati has a good chance on the longer straight, which is good, but the KTM or Aprilia also have a lot of speed. I think this weekend the riders will make more of a difference than the bikes’.
