After his crash at the Indonesian GP, Joan Mir is hoping for a positive result at a circuit he says is “special”. The Spanish rider spoke about his expectations for the Australian GP, revealing that he is motivated to achieve a good result.
– ‘ This track is always a special one, so I think everyone can have a chance here. It’s a track I really enjoy and we can definitely be faster here. On Friday the weather will still be good, on Saturday it will get worse and on Sunday much worse, but we’ll see, we’ll try to deal with this situation as best we can’.
Asked about the possibility of very unfavorable weather with very high wind speeds, Mir replied: “With weather this bad we certainly won’t be able to race, but we’ll have to talk and wait and see. It’s not the first time we’ve arrived here on a Thursday or Friday and the weather is good, but during the rest of the weekend it gets worse, but we’ll see. It’s important to always give 100% when we’re on track, because if they cancel a session we’re in a good position, so it’s going to be like that, adapting quickly to the conditions and being fast’.
