Aleix Espargaró is coming off a disappointing result in the MotoGP Australian GP, finishing in eighth place, nearly ten seconds behind the leader. Now, the Aprilia rider is approaching the Thai Grand Prix this weekend with more caution.
The Spaniard is tempering his expectations for Buriram, but he still believes that he can be competitive in this penultimate round outside of Europe:
– Not really high expectations in this track, but we are in MotoGP. I had high expectations in Australia and then I was super upset after our performance during the race – not during the weekend with our speed, but during the race which is the important thing. So you never know. Here I have low expectations, but then we can be competitive. For example in India I was fifth in the race before the engine said «finish». So maybe without this type of trouble we can also stay on top.
