Marc Marquez «shocked» the MotoGP world after announcing officially that he and Honda will part ways at the end of the season. The star recalled the decision made, the team of his ‘life’, and is now eager to see if he made ‘the good choice’.
In an interview with Crash.net, Honda’s face for many years was asked about what was the best advice he received on this matter and what was the crucial for him to make such decision towards his future and in his reply the rider confessed look more for himself, something he hasn’t always done:
– The best advice was to think of yourself, only. Only think of yourself because I’m the kind of person that most of the time, I’m thinking more about the people around me, than myself. I prefer to see the happiness of the people around me, the team, than myself. But then the best advice was ‘think of yourself’.
Such move wasn’t easy has he told, mostly after the very special relation he has with his current brand, at the same time that he knows that time will tell if he has done the right decision: ‘And yeah, it was a big decision especially to go out from my team. The team of my MotoGP career. The team of my life, which is the Repsol Honda team, with all the Japanese and Spanish staff we have here. It was difficult, but we will see if it’s the good choice’.
