After more than two months, Francesco Bagnaia returns to pole position at the MotoGP Malaysian GP. The Ducati rider set a new lap record at Sepang to beat Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) in Saturday’s qualifying.
The championship leader told the official broadcast that it’s an important pole position, and also impressive with the lap times, expressing optimism for the sprint race:
– For sure considering the recent period it’s one of the most important [pole positions]. Also the lap time was incredible: last year when we saw 1m57.7s was already incredible and this year many, many riders have going down from 1m58s. It’s incredible, I’m very happy. Being back in pole position is fantastic and we have to be very positive for this afternoon.
