Before the final race of the year, Aleix Espargaro didn’t hide his admiration and even the possibility of helping Jorge Martin in some way, but he didn’t shy away from praising Pecco Bagnaia. The Aprilia rider also spoke briefly about the great championship the #89 has won in a satellite team.
‘Nobody could have imagined the crazy race you saw today. It was fucking crazy. I mean, Miller would lead, there would be crashes. For me it was a mistake to race at three o’clock in the afternoon. It was too cold. With the tyre in front we were all a bit tight. But in MotoGP anything can happen and Jorge had nothing to lose’, the #41 began saying before talking about the difference between factory and satellite and not forgetting a ‘spectacular’ year:
– I feel very sorry for Jorge, I think the year he’s had in a satellite team, no matter how much they sell that the bike is official, is good, there are eight of us and in an official team there are 100 of us. It’s been spectacular since [Mick] Doohan, nobody has won two titles in a row.
And added: ‘Pecco is a great rider, he’s a hard-working guy, he’s a humble guy, he’s quiet, he’s a good guy, he seems like a good person to me. Congratulations. I am very happy for him. Jorge is my best friend, but I’m happy for Pecco’.
