The 2023 MotoGP season was marked by several crashes and injuries. Almost no Grand Prix had all the main riders of the grid from the first free practice, and there are those who argue that the format proved to be too demanding.
Jorge Martín said in a press conference that there is a bigger risk with the introduction of the Sprint races, admitting that the format could justify the high number of incidents:
– A lot of races, but the most relevant thing is that having a race on Saturday you need to push from Friday and sometimes nothing is ready to push. Maybe that’s why we crashed that much. And more starts, more risk.
