After speaking about the moment he realised he could actually fight for the world title in MotoGP, Jorge Martin confessed he felt the pressure which wasn’t helpful in the way he approached some of the rounds.
The japanese round marked the moment Martin understood he all what it takes, for real, to fight with Pecco Bagnaia for the championship, but with it came some of not the lightest feelings, as he recalled: ‘Then the pressure arrived. I didn’t enjoy from Thailand to Qatar, I struggled a lot mentally. It was my first time carrying this pressure and I struggled. I didn’t enjoy it’.
Second in the championship, Martin said the way you feel at a specific moment can either change the way you enjoy, or not, the outcome of your own riding:
– I think when I enjoy it, I am the fastest. So, hopefully, next season I improve, I learn and I can enjoy from the first race. Well, I would say not just one race – maybe two.
