With a seat open in the factory team after 2024 and the desire to have another satellite team in the grid, KTM will assess its options in the coming months – with the sports director Pit Beirer ensuring active engagement in exploratory talks.
The Austrian told SPEEDWEEK.com: ‘We are now open, and therefore, we will talk to all the teams whose contracts with the manufacturer expire after 2024. We will talk to all the riders whose contracts expire after 2024’.
Regarding riders, however, Beirer emphasized that not everything counts: ‘But we will be careful, and we will only talk to riders who genuinely want to talk to us. Channeling someone with a lot of money doesn’t help because such a rider loses confidence in the project at the smallest problem’.
