Jorge Martín fought for this year’s MotoGP title until the end with the Prima Pramac satellite team. There was speculation about a possible move to Ducati in place of Enea Bastianini if he became champion, but he ultimately finished second behind Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), and that change didn’t materialize.
However, it was indeed on the table. In a DAZN documentary, «Martinator» revealed that he had racing suits prepared in case he didn’t test for Pramac: ‘I don’t know if I can say this, but on Valencia’s Sunday, I already had two black racing suits prepared in case I switched to another bike’.
Despite not making the move to the Ducati factory team again, Martín assured that he’s happy at Pramac: ‘But, well, it didn’t happen, and I don’t mind. I was very close to Pecco as runner-up, and I did it with Pramac, so I’m proud to continue. Ultimately, if I moved, I wouldn’t be with my team. I think they deserve to fight for another World Championship, and they deserve to achieve it’.
