Ducati acknowledges that Jorge Martín deserves to move up to the factory team in MotoGP, but even after the rider became this year’s runner-up, there wasn’t an opportunity—maintaining confidence in Enea Bastianini, who debuted for Borgo Panigale but was significantly affected by injuries.
Martín’s current contract expires at the end of the upcoming season, and the Prima Pramac Spanish rider doesn’t rule out exploring other options if he remains excluded from Ducati’s factory team. He admitted this scenario in statements to the newspaper AS:
– My 100 percent priority for 2025 is an official team. My goal is the official Ducati team because it’s the factory I’m with, I know the bike, and I have a lot of projection within this factory. But if they don’t want me or understand I’m not the best, I’ll look for something else.
