Marco Bezzecchi will have a new teammate by his side on Pertamina Enduro VR46 MotoGP Team after Luca Marini decided to leave to take on the Repsol Honda Team challenge. The chosen one was Fabio Di Giannantonio but, before the italian was confirmed at the team, there were a lot of rumours speaking about the possibility of his teammate being Fermín Aldeguer.
Third in this year’s championship, Bezzecchi was asked by Manuel Pecino about his preferences when it comes to the teammate he has, from someone with experience in the class – as is the caso do Digia – or someone brand new to it, as it would have been the case of Aldeguer, and the #72 said he didn’t know what to think about that: ‘I don’t know about that, I’ve been in the team with Luca for a few years now, honestly I’m used to him so I wouldn’t know’.
However, even a new rider brings something new, to which he would be able to learn from, he acknowledged: ‘For me, you can learn as much from an experienced rider as from another one. Obviously you learn certain things from a junior rider, maybe the speed is there, some details are missing, but in both cases you can learn something from any rider, so for me it doesn’t change much’.
Di Giannantonio ended up as being the chosen to take Marini’s seat, he who was left without contract after Gresini didn’t count on him, signing with Marc Márquez instead.
