The Ducati MotoGP teams have a policy of openness regarding sharing information among riders, allowing everyone to access each other’s data. Álex Márquez, who joined Gresini last year, experienced this firsthand.
Quoted by Marca during a sponsor event, #73 acknowledged that sharing information has both pros and cons: ‘Sharing data is an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time. You can have a lot of information and references, but on the other hand, it can be confusing. You can become obsessed with comparing one another’.
In his case, Márquez preferred to focus on fixed references, as he mentioned: ‘My experience is always to follow the same ones as a reference. Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martín are the ones I focused on the most last year. They have different riding styles, and it’s essential to understand what they do’.
