Honda have been in the past years a bit off their main competition in MotoGP, were european manufacturers have taken the upper hand, with Ducati more than everything to be in the spotlight and Alberto Puig considers this is part of a ‘very important’ step that these factories decided to give.
For Repsol Honda Team Manager there is still no doubts who the biggest manufacturer is, as he told Marca, quoted on Crash: ‘One thing that is undeniable is that Honda is Honda, it is the largest motorcycle manufacturer, it sells more than 25 million motorcycles a year. I think the second manufacturer sells six or seven’.
Then Puig looked at the competition, saying they have taken a step forward in the evolution of their bikes, but not only:
– Honda is Honda, point number one. And point number 2, in MotoGP, now, we must recognize that the European manufacturers have taken a very important step with very aggressive policies at the level of technical development, hiring of technicians, they go to the limit of everything possible in everything.
Yamaha, also a japanese manufacturer, is too facing problems in the category.
