The Ducati Desmosedici has dominated the MotoGP world championship and the final standings in the last two seasons are proof of that. Always on the path of evolution, the 2024 model will bring new aerodynamics that the factory team’s duo have yet to see, but are betting will have many positive points.
Both riders were asked about this very aspect of the new bike, with Bastianini beginning by saying that he hasn’t yet had the chance to see the most up-to-date version, already with the new aerodynamic package: ‘We haven’t seen the design of the new bike yet. It’s an important part about the bike, and it also depends on your riding style. Me and Pecco [Bagnaia] last year chose different solutions compared to the Pramac riders, and that could probably happen this year too. It depends, but we haven’t seen it yet, but it will also be very good’.
For his part, Bagnaia explained what he asked of the manufacturer, and although, like Bestia, he hasn’t seen the bike yet, he knows that whatever comes will be competitive: ‘People within the team said it was good but different. My request was for manoeuvrability but also downforce, a bit of everything. I think they’ve done a good job’.
