With just two more days of testing before the start of the World Superbike season, Iker Lecuona fears the worst. The tests this week in Portimão did not bring any significant improvements, and he even crashed on the last day.
The Team HRC rider epxlained to the championship’s official website that the situation doesn’t bode well for the future: ‘We still struggle, we don’t find the way, we don’t find anything that works well with the bike – we don’t know why, we don’t know what we need to change. But that’s the reality, we are still struggling. I don’t know what I need to say at the end’.
Lecuona then admitted he is going to Australia in a critical situation: ‘It’s the last day of testing and to go to Australia with this feeling it’s not the best honestly. Because it’s my third year here in Superbike and for now I don’t feel this big improvement. We improve sometimes, but at the end what is clear is that we are not ready to fight even in the top 10. Let’s see in Australia on those two days of testing if we can find something’.
