The tests at Sepang were highly positive, believes Brad Binder, who admits that the team has grown, with the driver considering that there are a number of small developments that will make a difference for him, without forgetting that the competition has also evolved.
‘December was very good, it was fantastic to get married […] In general everything has been good, I’ve had a fantastic off season and I’ve been waiting to get back to Europe, to the action. For me Sepang was a very positive test’ the KTM rider began to say, he who explained how the first few days of testing went:
– On the first day we just tried to get back up to speed, back up to pace, with my riding to where it should be again and from the second day onwards I was able to get a very good lap time and was able to be very fast straight away and from there we started testing: different aerodynamics and all sorts of things.
As for the high level that was demonstrated at Sepang, with several riders managing to set times below the previous record, the South African commented: ‘It’s crazy because of course we took a big step forward ourselves, but it looks like the other guys did too. It’s always good to see how MotoGP is taking a step up, the level keeps going up and I felt that our bike is working much better and we’ve found little things that make a big difference to me and so now it’s a question of combining all the little details together and I don’t think we’re far away at all’.
