Francesco Bagnaia was clearly the fastest in both MotoGP pre-season tests, breaking the official records at the Sepang and Losail circuits. It was a show of strength from the Ducati rider, who will be aiming for his third title.
Luca Marini, who is racing for Repsol Honda this year, was asked whether Bagnaia’s performance in the tests is a warning to the competition. The #10 replied:
– I think that Pecco is pushing to have more power for the contract with Ducati. He has to renew his contract, he wants more money I think. So he’s showing his strenght and is doing a great job.
It’s worth noting that Bagnaia is one of several riders whose contracts are expiring. An exit from Ducati seems unlikely given the value of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer and the competitiveness of the Desmosedici GP. However, the truth is that the rider is free on the market and has many arguments in his favor in negotiations with the current team.
