Marco Bezzecchi’s adaptation to his new bike for 2024 isn’t easy and the evolution is taking time, but it’s happening gradually and that’s exactly what the rider felt in Losail.
After the tests in Sepang, the Italian rider of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing team admitted that he had to make some substantial changes to his riding style, given the different style that the bike “requires” in order to get the best out of it, and he seems to have found – at least in part – the way to a better ride, mainly due to ‘a few changes’, without specifying which ones.
Speaking to the championship’s official website, the 25-year-old, who was third in the world championship in 2023, explained some of his biggest problems: ‘I was struggling to stop the bike, not in a straight line but more with [lean] angle compared to the old bike’, and as he said before, made some changes to his way of being on the bike, which, together with the changes, have had an effect:
– This bike has a different style so I had to change my riding a bit. Because of this I needed a bit more time but also we made some changes on the bike that helped a lot. This was the biggest step.
