Marco Bezzecchi finished the Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix in 14th place. It was a challenging round for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider, who struggled to find competitiveness at Losail.
The Italian did not hide his disappointment, speaking about the many difficulties he faced: ‘It was a tough Sunday for me unfortunately. We made a step in the warm-up; I was really happy because I felt finally quite good on the bike again. But then once the race started I immediatly had a lot of front lock on braking. I cannot explain myself why, and from that moment I really started to really lose feeling on braking, lose feeling on entry, and I was going slower inside the corners, opening the throttle earlier because I was missing corner entry speed. I also finished the rear tyre very early. I tried to manage, but I think 11 laps from the end I was already in the map C of power – that was the lowest power that I had, but I was missing half of the race’.
According to Bezzecchi, lessons were learned from this Qatar GP, hoping for a better performance in Portugal: ‘It was a very difficult weekend for me. We found some interesting things, but we also saw that is really though to improve when the weekend starts in a difficult way. Hopefully in Portimão we can find a better base on Friday to try to be better on Saturday and Sunday’.
