Pedro Acosta enters MotoGP this year, which represents a significant step – he moves from Moto2 to the premier class, and the bikes are very different, from the tires to the aerodynamics, through electronics or engine power.
The Spaniard was approached in a press conference to compare the transitions from Moto3 to Moto2 and from Moto2 to MotoGP. In response, he stated:
– For sure from Moto3 to Moto2 was a big change. Also I was so young and maybe the media was tough for me. At the end was not more the change of category, it was the change from the media. At the end was the first season that I had a lot of expectation, it was the first that everyone expected Pedro would win the championship. The year before in Moto3 everyone expected that I was going to make the jump directly to MotoGP. Maybe the media for me was quite tough.
At this point, Acosta believes that he now has the experience to help him: ‘Now I’m a little bit older, now I have much more experience with these things. So it was more the experience that I take than the change of the bike’.
