The Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix concluded with Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) taking the victory, while Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) finished third. Marc Márquez (Gresini) came in fourth, making him the third Ducati rider despite using last year’s version of the Desmosedici GP.
Following the Losail results, Jorge Lorenzo stated on his YouTube channel Duralavita: ‘He already finished ahead of his brother. But they weren’t on equal terms because both Bagnaia and Martín have the 2024 bike, and Marc has the 2023 version, which makes a big difference. They could always say that Marc doesn’t have the same bike. Now there are no more excuses, but neither for Marc’.
At this stage, Márquez is still adapting to the Ducati and the Gresini team. In Losail, he benefited from two days of pre-season testing, which won’t be the case in the upcoming rounds – where he’ll have only two free practice sessions to truly familiarize himself with his bike on the respective circuits.
