The qualifying session of the Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix had a setback for Marc Márquez. Still in the early stages of the session, the rider suffered a heavy crash at turn 15.
The Gresini Racing rider lost control of the Ducati while already leaned over and braking, unable to avoid a fall. Afterwards, Márquez and the bike slid through the gravel.
Despite the incident, the Spanish rider quickly got up without major injuries and ran back to the garage, where he switched to the second bike. He would eventually secure the eighth place on the grid.
