After more than two years, Maverick Viñales secured his first win with Aprilia. It was in the MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix Sprint race, beating Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) after consistently being at the top positions.
The Spanish rider from the Noale manufacturer, who is facing some health issues this weekend, didn’t hide his satisfaction, emphasizing to the official broadcast that they are finding the right path after a less-than-ideal start in Qatar:
– Today it feels good. Honestly I’m happy to be back on the top positions. I know Qatar wasn’t our level, I had some issues with the setting. But here we are showing we are finding the way. I’m very happy about how the things are going. I’m very focused for tomorrow, but we will enjoy today because it’s my first win with Aprilia, so I will enjoy it of course.
