It’s no secret that Jorge Martín wants to move up to the Ducati factory team in the next MotoGP season. After being runner-up last year, he still didn’t secure a place in Borgo Panigale, with the manufacturer opting to give another year to Enea Bastianini, who was heavily affected by injuries in 2023.
Currently leading the championship, the Pramac Racing rider wants to make the leap in 2025, taking the vacant seat alongside Francesco Bagnaia – ambitions reiterated this Thursday in a press conference:
– Well, I’m pretty happy where I am, but I think the natural position inside the Ducati family, where I started and grew up during all my career in MotoGP, I think the natural move would be to go to the factory team. I was really close in 2022, last season almost again until the last race. It’s my goal to arrive there and hopefully I can achieve it really soon. And if not, we’ll see what happens.
In addition to Martín, there are several other candidates and interested parties for the seat alongside Bagnaia – such as Enea Bastianini, who currently holds it, or even Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati).
