Miguel Oliveira is a true star in Portugal and this weekend it was once again proven with MotoGP in Portugal having extensive coverage in various media outlets. The crowd was such that it made the Portuguese remember another icon of the category, with #88 still saying a few words about… José Mourinho.
Oliveira was confronted by the press about the strong support and atmosphere at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, he went further and did not forget… Il Dottore:
– Yes, this weekend is still fantastic. I believe I only saw this, in the years I’ve been in the championship, with one rider and he is already retired [Valentino Rossi], you know who he is, and it’s fantastic to have, not only [those at the] circuit but the whole country with you, amazing and I can’t describe the sensations. A bit of pressure, because everyone is shouting your name, but it’s good because after this, even fighting for the championship, there wouldn’t be more pressure than this, unless it’s here, and in that case things are different but it was cool, very cool. The way they shouted my name was a bit like a song.
In a country where the King sport is football, Oliveira is a true star and the first Portuguese to reach the highest stages of motorcycling but today there was also another name, linked to football, in the spotlight: José Mourinho.
‘The Special One’ fue un invitado muy especial y fue quien mostró la bandera a cuadros, y el entrenador y el piloto tuvieron la oportunidad de conversar un poco: ‘Mourinho, fue bueno. Está de vacaciones y ve MotoGP, le gusta, y me confesó que es mejor que la Fórmula 1 y ya ha estado en algunas carreras de F1, por lo que fue muy bueno escucharlo. Solo una conversación casual, fue bueno conocerlo.
