After having known in the Algarve the ’24 version of the Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports, which for this year mounts a 19-inch front wheel and electronic suspensions as standard, we rode again with the popular Japanese model but in the base version.
We went to know this motorcycle in the Gorafe desert, in southern Spain, and we had a route waiting for us consisting almost entirely of off-road. Like its more road-oriented “sister”, the base Africa Twin benefits this year from a parallel twin-cylinder engine that now has a 7% improvement in torque from low revs, due to new internal components that have increased the compression ratio. The crankshaft and connecting rods have been redesigned, the injection has been improved, and thus the latest Africa Twin presents itself as more lively and fun.
The windscreen is taller and wider, and can be adjusted in various positions, and some small improvements have been made all over the place, leading to this CRF 1100L Africa Twin continuing to be one of the most versatile motorcycles in the maxi-trail market, for riding on asphalt and off-road.
