The Japanese GP ended prematurely due to worsening weather conditions that seriously compromised the safety of the riders. In the end, Jorge Martín secured another victory, once again beating Francesco Bagnaia, a result that earned praise from Gigi Dall’Igna, with the Italian team manager also having very positive words for Pramac.
The General Manager of Ducati Corse shared his perspective on the events on LinkedIn, stating that these were not the best conditions for the current world champion: ‘A GP that speaks for itself, often affected by rain and interrupted midway at a crucial moment. We were fast and competitive, Pecco was giving his best in conditions he doesn’t particularly like, and it would have been very interesting to see the final result of a challenge that we were managing with a focused race strategy.’
While Bagnaia achieved his first podium in wet conditions, the fight for the championship title has been completely reopened in the last few GPs, with Martín now just three points behind the #1:
‘An animated, tireless Jorge, another perfect weekend for the bike and the rider, another gem for a team that is working excellently, nurturing World Championship ambitions that honor the great Ducati family. For us, however, it was a positive weekend during which we worked well and had a good overall performance, especially considering the rainy conditions.’
