The design of the Volt Lacama has a special touch of the pioneering times of the early 20th century and, at the same time, the encouragement for the future that only innovators can give us. However, it is worth taking a small step back and remembering the origin, which came from a record-breaking journey. It was the longest journey ever made on an electric motorcycle, from Milan to Shanghai. Everything started from there. Then came the idea of a motorcycle capable of adapting to the owner’s tastes, and then came the industrialization process initiated by the Tazzari Group. At EICMA 2023, this project finally takes its final form and is officially presented on Tuesday, November 7, at 1:15 pm, at the Tazzari stand, specifically the S38 in Hall 11.
The aesthetic and functional core of the Lacama is its frame made from a single piece cast in aluminum. This ultra-light element is perhaps the most revolutionary element of this project, even more so than the electric power: if the latter offers immediacy in response, responsiveness, the frame promises ease and precision. The Lacama is an electric streetfighter with four driving modes: Wet, Eco, Sport, and Rocket, as well as four selectable levels of energy recovery. The motor is centralized and the transmission is belt-driven. The maximum power is 150 hp and the torque is 230 Nm in the HYPERSPORT version. Its weight is 219 kg with a 15 kWh battery, while the Hyperlight version weighs 198 kg and has a 10 kWh battery, with power and torque of 82 hp and 140 Nm.
Safety is also not compromised: Brembo braking system, ABS Cornering, Traction Control with a six-axis inertia platform and five selectable modes. This means that the driver can choose the mode that best suits their driving, ensuring total control in all situations. In addition, the Lacama features functionalities such as Anti-Wheeling and Launch Control Mode for fast starts but always under control.
