Honda has significantly strengthened its team for 2025, and while its factory rider lineup remains the same, there are major changes to the test team and structure, including the addition of Aleix Espargaró and Takaaki Nakagami, as well as the inclusion of Romano Albesiano.
And it’s precisely about the former Aprilia Racing rider, who retired at the end of 2024, that Alberto Puig spoke in an interview with Motorsport, making it clear that he has high expectations for the team’s new test rider.
When asked what Honda expects the Spaniard to bring, the Japanese manufacturer’s Team Manager responded: ‘He’s a rider with a lot of experience and has been very clear in his comments about the bike.’
Puig also recalled his overwhelmingly positive results, especially in recent years in MotoGP, and how he will only add positive aspects: ‘He comes from a great brand, with which he accumulated great results. A rider like this can’t bring anything negative, because he will only bring ideas.’
