Cooper Webb finished the AMA Supercross 450 main event in San Diego in third place and admitted at the end that he was very happy mainly because he didn’t feel at his best.
The Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha rider commented on his day as follows, generally happy with the way everything went:
– It was a much better day. I was fourth in qualifying, and then the main event went well overall. I was second off the start, which was really good, and led about half the race. I was just a little under the weather, so it was tough and about halfway, that was all I had.
He still had praise for the competition, including his teammate Eli Tomac, who won: ‘That being said, Eli and Jett were hauling butt. They were on it tonight, so I’m happy with the podium. We’ll get back to work’.
