Adrián Huertas is making a surprising move in 2025, transitioning from the World Supersport Championship to the Moto2 World Championship. The typical path for a Supersport champion is to move up to the World Superbike Championship, but that is not the case here.
The Spaniard emphasized to the site Motosan.es that his ultimate goal is to enter MotoGP in the future, and he sees this as the ideal step: ‘What I really want is to reach MotoGP, and I think Moto2 is the best path to achieve it’.
Huertas revealed that there were no shortage of offers from WSBK: ‘There was a moment when it seemed like moving to Superbikes was a sure thing. I was close to joining that championship; I even received other offers, but the truth is I didn’t feel ready to wait any longer’.
His journey is unconventional, and financial constraints played a role, as he admitted: ‘I don’t come from a family with great resources. If I had money, I probably would have reached Moto3 earlier, but I feel very proud of what I have achieved through effort and hard work’.
