A miniature Honda trike transformed into a true high-powered machine. That’s exactly what the YouTube channel Shred Eighty introduced to the world by equipping the vehicle with a 1000cc, 180-horsepower engine. The result? A creation as daring as it is terrifying.
The high-capacity engine was installed directly in front of the rider, a position that is chilling in itself. The vehicle’s construction, completed in just one month by Bummotorsports and led by Gavin Carlson, was done with limited tools, which might raise some concerns about its safety.
Carlson, the American who envisioned and brought the project to life, was the first to ride this peculiar trike. Before that, the engine had already put on a show with its thunderous sound during its initial start-up.
Mounted on what appear to be rather dubious tires, the trike showed its unpredictable behavior right from the start. The power-to-weight ratio is so extreme that the vehicle inevitably pops wheelies, making it a real challenge to ride.
During the initial tests, conducted in an isolated industrial area, there were concerns about a possible issue with the brakes. Despite the initial alarm, inspection revealed that the system was intact. However, the rider faced another significant difficulty: the trike naturally veered to the right, further complicating handling.
Despite these challenges, Carlson launched into a straight-line acceleration, delivering an auditory spectacle with the engine’s roar. But the experience was interrupted by yet another scare, this time involving the rear of the vehicle.
While the 1000cc trike is an impressive demonstration of creativity and engineering, riding it is only for the bravest. This invention, both fascinating and intimidating, perfectly showcases how a passion for mechanics can push the boundaries of possibility.
If this radical creation piques your interest, the full video is available on the Shred Eighty channel. But beware: this is a vehicle that only a few would dare to ride.
