Pedro Acosta is one of the rising stars in motorcycle racing. From a very young age, he has been in the spotlight, long considered one of the greatest talents in the sport.
The rider joined the Moto3 World Championship in 2021 at just 16 years old and immediately claimed the title in dominant fashion. Now, he is competing in MotoGP, stepping up this season at the age of 19 (he turned 20 in May).
Despite all the media attention and excitement surrounding him, Acosta has always managed to stay grounded. In the Un Café con podcast by UCAM, he admitted that fame could have easily gone to his head:
– I think it’s very easy to lose your head a little or to get a bit carried away. In the end, when everything happened to me during that first year in Moto3, when I was 16 years old, it would have been the easiest thing. I think not leaving home, not leaving the region, ended up being very good for me because I believe you have to see the reality of what life is. I don’t think it happened to me at all.
